| The West Usk Lighthouse was decommissioned in 1921 and was sold as a country retreat with over 50 acres of land. It was left derelict for a number of years afterwards until its conversion to a home in 1989. Today it offers comfortable accommodation and a room that has been made over by the TV programme "The Hotel Inspector".
The lighthouse also offers an authentic Mongolian yurt and holiday mobile home suitable for those who would like to do some fishing or bird watching or just would like to experience peace or something quite different whilst visiting Wales. On request and at an additional cost, a Rolls Royce can take you to a local restaurant, sipping champagne if you want!
Ideally located for exploring South Wales, with easy access to the M4 and only 20 minutes from Cardiff, this newly-refurbished Victorian residence is set in the heart of Newport’s regeneration area.
The Waterloo offers a comfortable stay in tastefully decorated en suite bedrooms, with all the original features of a traditional Victorian hotel, yet all the modern facilities for today''s traveller. This is complimented by a superb bistro, which won Metro Magazine’s ‘Restaurant of the Year 2007’.
South East Wales is fast becoming a comprehensive business centre, and, as such, The Waterloo provides a fully equipped conference room for up to 40 people, and wireless internet facilities.
